Fotoly Privacy Policy

Fotoly is a photo editor and collage maker for Android. It works without an account. The free app shows ads (Google AdMob) and uses Google Analytics for Firebase to learn which features are used. This policy explains exactly what that means.
Your photos never leave your device
All editing — filters, adjustments, retouching, object removal, background cutout, enhancement, face and body tools, collages — is processed on your device by the app itself, including the AI features (the machine-learning models are part of the app). Your photos, edits, face/body landmarks and masks are never uploaded to the developer, to Google Analytics or to any advertising network. Fotoly does not use face data for identification and does not store it after the tool is closed.
Photos you save are written to your device gallery (Pictures/Fotoly). Stickers you create from cutouts are stored in the app's private storage.
Data collected by third-party services
Google AdMob (advertising)
Fotoly shows a banner ad at the bottom of editing screens, a full-screen ad occasionally after saving a photo or collage, and an optional rewarded video that you can choose to watch before using some AI tools. Ad requests never contain your photos or edits. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
- the device advertising ID and app set ID;
- IP address (used to estimate an approximate location);
- device and app information (model, OS version, language, app version);
- ad interactions (impressions, clicks) and diagnostic data.
This is used to show and measure ads, limit ad frequency and prevent fraud. Ads are personalised only where you have given consent or where consent is not required by law. See How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Google Analytics for Firebase (usage statistics)
Fotoly logs anonymous usage events: which screens and tools are opened (for example "filter", "cutout"), when a photo or collage is saved (only the image size and file format), share target (for example "instagram"), ad events, the consent result and in-app update/review results. These events never contain your photos, file names, text you type or any content of your images. No user ID is set.
Firebase also collects automatically: an app instance ID, device model, OS version, language, country / approximate location derived from the IP address, app version, first open and session duration. Google keeps this data for up to 14 months.
Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Fotoly shows Google's consent form (User Messaging Platform, IAB TCF v2.2) before any ad is loaded. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy choices. Your choice is also passed to Firebase Analytics (Consent Mode v2): until it is known, Analytics does not store identifiers.
Google Play in-app updates and reviews
Fotoly uses Google Play libraries to offer updates and, once, to show the Google Play rating card. These run inside Google Play under Google's privacy policy; the app does not learn whether or how you rated it.
Sharing and selling
Data collected by AdMob and Firebase is processed by Google LLC as described above and is sent encrypted (HTTPS). The developer does not sell personal data and operates no server that receives data from the app.
Permissions
- Photos (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / storage on older Android): to show your gallery so you can pick photos to edit. You can grant limited access.
- Camera: Fotoly opens your camera app when you tap "Camera"; it does not access the camera directly.
- Internet / network state: to load ads and send analytics.
- Advertising ID: used by AdMob and Firebase as described above.
Children
Fotoly is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Deleting your data
Everything the app stores is on your device: Android Settings → Apps → Fotoly → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app. To delete analytics data linked to your installation, see fotoly.malikoglu.az/delete-data/.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
